About Me
I am an artist, naturalist, and environmental educator. Since graduating from College of the Atlantic with a BA in human ecology and concentration in wildlife biology, I have had the opportunity to work in many different areas of the US. This has included remote islands, mountains, state parks, nature centers in beautiful places, and more. I have worked as a wildlife biologist, environmental educator, park ranger, equestrian center caretaker, gardener/property caretaker, and freelance artist. These diverse work and life experiences constantly inform my art and teaching. I create art to inspire people, to spark an interest in nature and animals, and to tell stories informed by our planet’s rich biological diversity. In my pet portraits, I strive to capture each animal’s unique and special personality. I am the author and illustrator of An Illustrated Natural History Guide to Birds of Mount Desert Island, Maine (a digital copy of this book can be accessed here).
I am now living in Central New York, an area which is filled with natural wonders and great inspiration for my artwork.
